This is rather a very late post but since it’s still 2023, we’re still celebrating silver anniversary of our company, Actichem Marketing Corporation.
Let me start with a story that I hope will inspire you. On January 2, 1998, just a day after the New Year’s festivities, a very excited me drove up to Cainta Municipal Hall to register my business. As was expected, there was only me at the window, the warm morning sun caressing my back. All the employees in the municipal hall who assisted me shared my good spirits and were all smiles. Such was the morning when I registered my cosmetic trading business – bright and sunny and full of hopes and dreams for the future.
After that January day, I worked hard and diligently, developing active ingredients with local cosmetic manufacturers and laboratories, compounding pharmacists and dermatologists. I pored over and studied tons of technical materials late into the night and did presentations from one client to another.
But four months into working solo, there were no breakthroughs except for a few small trading transactions here and there. My resources were depleting fast and I was also beginning to feel dejected and discouraged.
One morning in my apartment-office, I was so overwhelmed with the thought of my business not succeeding any time soon and what then? I broke down, laid my head on my desk and sobbed and sobbed while also praying incoherent words. When all the tears were exhausted, I felt light and refreshed if that was at all possible. I got up from my chair and made tea. While I was sipping my hot tea, the fax machine beside my desk beeped and after a few seconds, spewed out a long, uncut purchase orders from the largest cosmetic manufacturing company in the country. The POs covered until the end of that first year. My active ingredients had been approved for use in many of their products that they were launching.
Actichem was established.
During one of that company’s important milestone celebrations where I was invited, I cried tears of gratitude and joy.
That was 25 years ago and the Lord has been so gracious and faithful in prospering our company to what it is today. There had been ups and downs, but the Lord’s favor is always upon us and brought us through all the challenges.
There are so many clients and suppliers that I’m thankful of. Most of them have become my good friends until now and even kumares.
I thank the Lord from the bottom of my heart for the 25 years of success and prosperity that only He has made possible.
Earlier this year, Actichem and our #1 supplier, Ichimaru Pharcos of Japan, hosted a technical seminar at Richmonde Hotel In Eastwood, Quezon City, also coinciding with our company’s silver anniversary celebration. Ichimaru was ably represented by Mr. Ryo Nishiyama, the company’s International Sales Manager. He also took charge of the technical seminar, eagerly presenting CLAIR BLANCHE III which is the latest addition to the CB series of skin whitening complex.
Ichimaru has been our staunch supplier from the very beginning. I brought them to the Philippines during those early months of our company’s very first year. Their support has been unwavering and steadfast to a fault and I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the company headed by the indefatigable Mr. Ando.
Below are highlights of the silver anniversary celebration and technical seminar. Thank you all so much for gracing this very special occasion. It was at most a very simple one but our hearts are full.
